Activity: Gorge Walking

Course Description: This activity involves making your way up a flowing stream against the water current. To add to the adventure you will get the opportunity to climb waterfalls, complete a trust fall, jump in plunge pools and slide down mini water chutes.

You can upgrade to a full day by choosing another half day activity (if compatible). Please call for advice.

 

What you can expect:

  • To learn safe techniques to move upstream

  • To work as a team to get everyone safely up the waterfalls

  • To put you outside your comfort zone

 

Who is it for / Pre-requisites: This course is for anyone wanting a wet adventure. It is suitable for families and groups, as the level of challenge can be adjusted.

Location and Travel Arrangements: 

The course will meet in the carpark at the side of the Snakes Pass Inn. The group will then travel to the start of the gorge walk. Clients will be expected to provide their own transport unless alternative arrangements are made in advance. Where possible we can collect clients from Bamford train station.

 

By Car: Please follow postcode S33 0BJ, which will bring you to the Snakes Pass Inn on the A57, approximately half way between Bamford and Glossop.

By Train: Travel to Bamford Station in Derbyshire.

​

Local facilities: At the beginning of the day you will have access to toilet facilities and possibly food and drink, depending if the pub is open. at the café. When you are out on the Gorge Walk there will be no access to any facilities.

What you should bring

    • Clothes to get wet

    • Footwear to get wet (not wellies / walking boots)

    • Full change of clothing
